Can Vietnam's Schools Learn From Singapore?
What happens in countries such as Singapore when it comes to self-quarantine?
Depending on the school, students who are self-quarantined for 14 days are able to access various online teaching methods so that they can continue to learn remotely.
Quarantined students at one of Singapore's most technology-driven schools, the GIIS SMART Campus, can now connect to virtual classes remotely. This all-through school has promised to be “the school of the future” since it opened in 2018, and the decision to launch its virtual classrooms now is a timely one.
Students in Grades 10-12 have the flexibility to log-in and participate in a live, ongoing class in the school through their mobile phone, laptop or iPad. Students who are logged-in remotely can view the classroom and its digital Smartboard, watch the teacher take the lesson, and participate in any class discussion.
Elsewhere in Singapore, the EtonHouse group of schools is issuing its students on a Stay-Home Notice (SHN) with a Home-Based Learning plan. This is in addition to at-home learning kits that include “several days of holistic activities with all the materials needed, as well as instructions and information for parents."
