Uppingham School to Open Vietnam Campus

Uppingham School will open a day and boarding school in Vietnam in 2023, which will be its first overseas campus. The prestigious West Midlands school has partnered with Viet Capital Education to open a co-ed school with full boarding facilities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Uppingham Vietnam will offer a choice of day, weekly or full boarding to students aged 11-18 years.

The announcement follows news in September that Reigate Grammar School has partnered with an international school in Vietnam to open the first UK independent school in the country.  The International School of Vietnam (ISV) will be renamed Reigate Grammar School Vietnam, and it will adopt several aspects of RGS culture and life, including the introduction of an A Levels programme.

While many UK independent school schools have branched out with overseas campuses in countries such as the UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand, none have expanded into Vietnam – until now. 

Uppingham School, which is located in a rural town in Leicestershire, offers a full boarding experience and broad curriculum to 800 students from across the UK and overseas. Founded in 1584, Uppingham was originally a boys-only boarding school, and alumni include comedian and actor Stephen Fry. Today, this co-ed school believes in breadth and flexibility, giving its students the freedom to follow a wide variety of paths to university – and a wide choice of A Level subjects.

Facilities will include art and science buildings, gym, swimming pool and sports pitches.

Viet Capital Education is an investment fund managed by Viet Capital Asset Management (VCAM).
