Schools in England will not reopen until after the half-term break – but students could begin to return to class from March 8.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the House of Commons today that schools must remain closed for at least another five weeks. A final decision on when to reopen schools would depend on meeting vaccination targets and schools will get two weeks' notice, he said.

Johnson said that students returning to class would be the "first sign of normality", and lockdown restrictions in England would be gradually eased after schools start to reopen.
