A teenage student has been found dead near the grounds of a prestigious UK boarding school. The girl's body was found just before midnight on Friday, April 21 close to Wycombe Abbey School, Thames Valley Police have confirmed.
The 16-year-old's death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Wycombe Abbey is an independent all-girls' boarding and day school in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The 12-year-old daughter of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is believed to be one of its students.
Jo Duncan, the headmistress of Wycombe Abbey School, said in a statement to the media:
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of one of our students.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time.”
