Somewhere Over the Rainbow, by Rosie

For the past two months, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com has been running a project designed to offer hope and comfort in these challenging times. We hope to offer inspiration through the musical talents of the children of the UAE.

Since March, we have been sharing videos of students and teachers singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as a message of hope and unity. Here, Rosie Stringer, a student at Dubai College shares her, beautiful, interpretation of the uplifting song.

Inspired by the young people of China and Italy who began sharing messages of hope as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold in their homelands, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com began sharing special versions of the song, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", by students across the world, who also wanted to raise their voices in hope, and solidarity...

Rosie is now part of a growing group of children and teachers who have recorded this song for our project. You will find links to the other versions of the song (in English, French and Sinhalese) below.

All over the world, children and young people have united under the message ‘Keep up the Fight’. For children in China, where the movement originated, the message is “Jiayou”.

Today, all around Italy, the words “andra tutto bene” (all will be well) now accompany beautiful rainbow drawings made by children to brighten their locked down neighbourhoods, and to give hope to anyone who sees them. We want to share the UAEs' messages of light and hope too...

Jiayou. Andra tutto bene. Keep up the fight.

We would love to hear this popular song sung in your mother tongue. If your child would like to share their own version of the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" song, please email [email protected].

Please enjoy this moment of musical hope, positivity and worldwide connection from Rosie and all of the WhichSchoolAdvisor.com team.

Thank you Rosie, for your song...
