The school prides itself on its innovative and rich curriculum. We place a strong emphasis on working with parents and the community, enabling all students to maximize their abilities, ambitions, and academic potential in everything they do. We believe in laying foundations for life through the continuous pursuit of excellence.

Describe your school's approach to education and teaching?

We will fulfill our mission by extending our legacy as a non-traditional school, nimble and responsive to change that focuses on and engages with critically contemporary issues and prioritizes humanity and culture in designing systems and environments to improve the human condition, an approach that draws from design thinking and the liberal, creative and performing arts. KGS places collaborative, project-based learning at the center of the educational experience.

Physical education and sport is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. How does your school ensure children engage in physical activity?

Encouraging physical activity, the school has dedicated activity areas that provide a safe and secure environment for fun filled activities for our school students. For KG children we have sand and water play areas, traffic park and activity rooms. For Grades children, we have football Pitch, cricket net practice area, badminton and basketball court. PE and games are part of curriculum and school focuses to help children achieve a well-rounded education in a child-friendly atmosphere.

Does the school have cafeteria facilities for the students?

No. We have school Canteen that serves cold and warm food.

What would be the amount spent by a student for their lunchtime meal?

Grade students have two breaks for children during the day. The first break lasts for 15 minutes and the second break is for 10 minutes. So in total, 25 minutes are spent on the break per day. KG children have no fixed break timing but is limited to 25 to 30 minutes per day.

What is the starting and finishing time of your school day?

KG : 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Grades 1 to 5 : 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

How do you feedback progress and attainment to students and parents?

We have formal report cards published quarterly. We conduct Parent Teacher sessions regularly to discuss child's progress.

How often is the more formal feedback such as reports and parent/teacher meetings?

What is your medium of instruction?

English

Is Arabic taught as both a first language and second language in your school?

No. Its the third and the fourth language.

Which other languages are taught?

Hindi, French, Malayalam

Do you offer EAL or TEFL support for those students where English is not their first language?

Not applicable

Is Islamic Education/Studies for the Arab Muslim students delivered in Arabic for them?

No.

Do you have a dedicated prayer room/s for the Muslim students?

Yes. We have two prayer rooms.

ASSET, CAT4, IBT-Arabic, WCT, TIMSS and PIRLS, Arabic Benchmark Test

Do you develop independent learning through homework and, if so, what are your recommendations regarding this, particularly time spent on homework?

Yes, assigning homework serves as an intellectual discipline, establishes study habits and supplements and reinforces the work done in school. In addition it provides student initiative, independence and responsibility. It is an essential link between home and the school.
Average maximum time required per day on homework ranges from half an hour for KG to two hours for grade students.

How do you support gifted, able and talented students?

We have a fully equipped Achievement center with a team of qualified Counselors and Special Educators

What percentage of your sixth form that take exams at 18 go to university, and where, in general, do they go?

Do you have a learning support team in your school?

Yes

Not all schools are staffed or resourced to offer learning support to those children with either moderate or significant learning needs. To what level can you offer support for those with learning differences?

We provide full support to children with learning difficulties with LSAs on board and a fully equipped Achievement center with a team of qualified Counselors and Special Educators.
