Update: The Children's Garden in Al Barsha closed in July 2019. The DIP branch remains open.

There is now a single The Children's Garden (TCG) pre-schools, in the Green Community/DIP,. The second in Al Barsha 2 closed in July 2019. The pre-school is owned by the Taaleem group, the second largest school group in the UAE.

TCG follows an Early Years framework that is aligned to each of the Taaleem schools, concentrating on these major areas: Literacy, Numeracy, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design, Personal, Social and Innovation Skills, Communication and Language and Physical Development. TCG students are prepared academically and socially to enter the Primary Stage of a big school.

TCG also provides a focus on languages - beginning in nursery for 2-year-olds, it is English only. However, from Pre-KG onwards, TCG Green Community offers English, French or German and Arabic as third language and TCG Barsha offers English, French or Arabic.

The pre-school's pupils are a mix of nationalities - which fits with the school's approach.  The largest number in the Green Community are German, American, British, French and Canadian.

Timings for the schools are as follows:

There's a non-refundable Application Fee of AED 500 to put your child on the waiting list. The registration fee of AED 2,000 is payable when you have been notified of your child's placement availability, it is however credited towards the fees for Term 1 or joining term.
