Teddy Bear Nursery Al Mushrif has replaced the branch previously located at Khalifa City A, and is part of a group of four nurseries operating in Abu Dhabi, first established in 2008. The other three are located in Al Bateen, Al Shamkah and Mohammed bin Zayed City. The nurseries follow an American Creative curriculum.

The story so far...

Teddy Bear Nursery Al Mushrif is one of four nurseries bearing the same name originally established in 2008.  The original nursery at Khalifa City has now closed, to be replace by the Al Mushrif branch.  The other nurseries are located in Al Bateen (established in 2016), Mohammed bin Zayed City (2018) and Al Shamkah (2021). Children are accepted from the age of 45 days (in line with UAE Maternity leave provision) to 4 years.

The group has recently come under the ownership of Liwa Education, owners of two schools in Al Ain, and a third school in Abu Dhabi also located in Al Mushrif.

The nursery informed us that they are uniquely placed to support families seeking nursery care.  Teddy Bear Nurseries offer 12 plus years of experience in Abu Dhabi, with a holistic early years program delivered in a loving and safe environment. The nursery team believes that a happy child is a learning child, with the growth of well-being and independence nurtured in the nursery. The staff is dedicated to ensuring that each child is given a balanced education and is guided through his or her journey of discovery and exploration with a qualified experienced team of early years teachers.

The nursery in Al Mushrif  provides care to some 170 children in mixed groups. Children from 30 different nationalities attend the nursery.

What about the curriculum?

The nursery follows the Early Years Creative Curriculum - an American curriculum with a particular focus on Life Skills and School Preparation. Children are taught through a Project Based Learning curriculum designed to be fun and engaging and carefully planned around the children’s needs,  concentrating on three key learning areas and four specific learning areas.  The curriculum is said to be "very effective and adapted for all age groups and their needs, encouraging children to develop new skills through active learning".

What about support for students of Determination?

The nursery supports children with Special Educational Needs through an Early Intervention Program provided onsite in partnership with Applied Behavior Institute (ABTi). A dedicated learning support teacher provides one on one and small group work activities with the children using a wide range of materials and activities already setup in the Montessori Learning Area. Such activities focus on practical life, art and creativity, sensorial, math and language.

What about facilities?

The nursery provides spacious classrooms with a variety of indoor activity areas, a  gym facility, a Music room, access to a large outdoor space including a park-like area, a Car Park, equipped with balance bikes, trikes, scooters and cars, and Play houses. There is also access to Sand Play area and a Splash area.

What about the Fees?

Fees range from AED 19,500 to AED 33,000 per year.  A variety of options are available in terms of the number of days spent at nursery, ranging from 2 days per week to a full 5 days.  The nursery also offers Summer Camp and Spring camps and a Winter Club each year.
