What are qualities and characteristics that define your school and its students?

Little Wonders is a special place. The children feel safe and loved in an environment where they feel at home and all of the staff know their names. We are located in a villa which has large classrooms and indoor play spaces, even a library. Outside we have an abundance of space, with a bike track, slide area, running track, sand and water play area, a sensory garden and sensory spa.

How many nationalities are represented in your school? How international would you say your school is?

At Little Wonders we currently have over 19 nationalities of students.

Are there high proportions of a particular nationality?

We have many european families and also families from the middle east including locals.

What is the teacher: student ratio in your school?

This varies from 1:4 -1:8 depending on the age group

Describe your school's approach to education and teaching?

We follow the EYFS at Little Wonders so our approach in very child centred and play based, We beleive in giving children the best opportunites, and we provide them with plenty of choice and activities that encourage independence. We make the most of the good weather and use the outside area everyday while we can. We encourage recycling and healthy eating.

Do you develop independent learning through homework and, if so, what are your recommendations regarding this, particularly time spent on homework?


Physical education and sport is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. How does your school ensure children engage in physical activity?

Our students do some form of physical development every day, this could be inside or outdoors. We have our own physical devleopment curriculum which is called 'Step Up', which allows the teacher to plan activities which are age and developmentally appropriate.

How does your school promote healthy lifestyles?

We are a very active nursery, and as well as Step Up physical development sessions we also do weekly yoga classes. We also have an annual sports day. which the parents can also join in with.

How do you promote healthy eating?

We encourage healthy eating for the children and spend 1 month teaching the children about healthy eating, and the importance of an active lifestyle.

Does the school have cafeteria facilities for the students? How does it promote a balanced diet?


What is the approximate average cost of a lunchtime meal?


What is the starting and finishing time of your school day?

7am (optional 6:30am drop available) -6pm.

We beleive in conflict resolutiuon at the nursery, so we help the children to talk about their issues and work through them together.

How do you feedback progress and attainment to students and parents?

We have a parent app where the parents receive a daily diary on their child's day. The parents also have access to a Learning Journey on the app which is updated constantly throughout the year which gives a regular update on the child's progress.

How often is the more formal feedback such as reports and parent/teacher meetings?

We have parent teacher meeting 3 times per year, with a progress report mid year followed by an end of year report.

Which languages are taught at your school - please detail any as a first as well as second language?

We also have weekly French Classes.

Do you offer EAL or TEFL support for those students where English is not their first language?

We have a dedicated LSA for children who require extra support.
