Ladybird Nursery is housed in a white single-story villa with a high walled garden in Jumeirah 2.
The pre-school is immediately welcoming with a warm, cosy atmosphere. The manager, Priscilla Palmer, is friendly and enthusiastic, especially when she speaks about the school. On our visit she spoke about a 'unique blend' of Montessori and traditional teaching practices, as well as the pre-school's expansion in lower years. It now accepts babies as young as 12 months old.
The nursery has a sister school called Tiny Home in the Umm Suqeim area. The group has been discussing further expansion in the form of another nursery. Ms Palmer told WhichSchoolAdvisor.com that there had been a huge number of potential parents viewing the school recently.
We liked the outdoor play areas which are colourful and attractive to tiny tots. The outdoor majlis area is a particularly nice touch, with traditional woven Arabic style cushions on the floor. In winter at least the outdoor is very well used - we saw one class exceedingly busy playing/cycling/climbing on typical fun equipment outside under a shaded awning.
The nursery has a family-like and peaceful feel, and its children clearly enjoy their time in the nursery.
