Jebel Ali Village Nursery the Lakes has lots of outdoor space and fresh air for kids to play outside in the winter, and ten classrooms inside to learn and play in the summer...

Jebel Ali Village Nursery, The Lakes is a private nursery for children from six weeks to four years of age located in Emirate Hills, Dubai.

The Lakes branch, opened in 2011, is one of six nurseries run by the Jebel Ali Village Nurseries group. Its first nursery opened in 1977, a school now closed due to a Nakheel redevelopment of the area.

The Lakes nursery is the newest in the group, built in a purpose built facility, in the grounds of The Lakes Club. It hosts 10 classrooms. Facilities include a children’s park, sand play area, children’s pool with water slide, climbing equipment and indoor playground with soft rubber tiles.

Jebel Ali Village Nurseries group as a whole employs predominately British and European trained teachers and claims a low child to teacher ratio. Strong teacher parent relationships are said to be encouraged.

The group follows a British, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Music and movement are also used to teach and encourage language and listening skills through rhythm, singing and playing instruments.

Fees are approximately 33,300 AED per year, depending on how many days per week the child is enrolled (not including any additional fees).

The school is open from 8 am to 5:30 pm Sundays through Thursday.

The nursery offers flexible hours to help meet the needs of each parent.

The buzz

The school is still too new to really generate a strong buzz, but the group as a whole is very well thought of among the expatriate, particularly  Western, European community.
