Indian Islahi Islamic School (also known as Islahi) closed in March 2014 as a result of Abu Dhabi's enforcement of its no school villa rule. The private K-12 school was located in Hadbat Al Zaafran, Abu Dhabi and at the time of closing catered to more than 1200 students. The school was relatively popular, receiving about 300 applications for 75 places in junior schools for its 2013/14 admissions. The closure has put added pressure for the demand for places for Indian schools in the capital.
