House of Colours Nursery is a private nursery for children between the ages of 18 months to 5 years of age, located in Al Jimi, Al Ain.

House of Colours follows a British, English speaking Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum with multiple classrooms split into their respective age groups.

The nursery claims high standards of "safety, hygiene, friendliness and professionalism" as well as a full daily and weekly programme designed for creative and constructive learning. Classes for children aged 3-4 years include developing core skills including maths, literacy and language through the use of the Jolly Phonics programme.

Along with a full curriculum the nursery also offers a number of activities including story time, painting, sand play, dress-up, music, art and craft.

The pre-school offers highly flexible timing: From 4 hours a day to 9.5 hours a day - and from 2 to 5 days a week between the hours of 7am to 2 pm or 7 am to 5 pm .

In a nice touch, the nursery's Web site contains a bio of each of its teachers and assistants. The majority seem to come from the Philippines and all hold Child Care Qualifications ranging from Masters in Education, Council for Awards Care Health and Education (CACHE) levels 1, 2, and 3, Montessori or Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED).

The director of the school, Miss O’Connor, however, holds a Nursery Nurses Examination Board (NNEB) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) certificate  and and is a Child Care trainer.  She has worked for 28 years in Special Care Baby Units (SCBU), private homes as a maternity nurse/nanny and as a Nursery class teacher and manager in the United Kingdom, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The nursery's fees range from approximately AED 20,000 to AED 26,000 yearly depending upon time spent at the school, and the age of your child.
