Gulf Asian English School is a private K-12 school located in Muweilah, Sharjah. The school was originally established in 1975 under the name Sharjah Montessori School, but later changed its name.

Established in 1975, the school originally started out as the Sharjah Montessori School. As of 1993 the school became affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Kindergarten students however follow a Montessori curriculum.

The school offers the CBSE curriculum from KG through to Grade 12. Children are coeducational to Grade 4, then are separated.

Facilities of the school include classrooms that are fully equipped with computers and audio visual equipment, a library, book store, dedicated science rooms, canteen, audio visual room, swimming pool, gymnasium and first aid centre (equipped with an experienced doctor as well as two qualified nurses).

The school is a mixed school, but operates separate wings for boys and girls.

The school is owned by The Pace Group which told UAE newspaper, the National in 2011 it was embarking on a drive to build more primary and secondary Indian curriculum based schools."


Sports

Gulf Asian English School says places sport and games are an integral part of the curriculum, and as such offers training in karate and athletics, plus coaching in cricket, football, basketball and indoor games such as badminton, table tennis, caroms and chess.


Who is PACE Education?

The group was founded in 1999 by Dr P.A. Ibrahim Haji in India and the first institution to open was P.A.College of Engineering (PACE) in Mangalore. The college is affiliated to the Visvesraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, recognised by the Government of Karnataka, accredited by the National board of accreditation (NBA) and certified to ISO 9001-2008. Today, the college has over 3,500 students and also offers Post Graduate Courses in Business Management.

Currently the Pace group operates one other school in the UAE, India International School, Sharjah.


The Numbers

Fees are highly affordable in the range of 4,800 AED per year for KG students, up to 7,500 AED per year for Grade 12 students. Books fees range from 350 AED for KG through to Grade 6, then increase to 450 AED for the highest Grades.
