What are qualities and characteristics that define your school and its students?

We are a community school serving Abu Dhabi society since 1992. The medium of instruction is English. We carter for students critical thinking, creativity and integrity thought a rich balanced curriculum that enables all students to learn.

We are a recognized Cambridge International School teaching the Cambridge International Subjects (English / Math / Science / ICT) along with the Ministry of Education Curriculum and an option of Urdu language.

We focus on moral education and positive promotion of the students personal and social development.

How many nationalities are represented in your school? How international would you say your school is?

We have a representation of 25+ nationalities in the school.

Are there high proportions of a particular nationality?

There is a range of various nationalities from various countries. There is no high proportion of any particular nationality.

What is the teacher: student ratio in your school?

The teacher student ratio is 1:20.

Describe your school's approach to education and teaching?

We believe that learning needs to occur in a happy environment that supports integrated project based learning focusing on attainment and individual needs of the learner.

Do you develop independent learning through homework and, if so, what are your recommendations regarding this, particularly time spent on homework?

We have a range of online resources from the UK to support to support independent learning and is used in the classroom and homework.

Physical education and sport is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. How does your school ensure children engage in physical activity?

We follow the National Curriculum of England for physical education along side optional additional sports clubs. Students have a wide range of sports clubs to select from such as: Football, , Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Karate (outsourced).

We also have open sports day to raise awareness of the importance of sport and exercise.

How does your school promote healthy lifestyles?

We have special programmes for student awareness on healthy lifestyles, exercise and hygiene .

How do you promote healthy eating?

We have regular campaigns and fun activities to raise the students awareness of the importance of healthy eating, nutrition and exercise for a balanced mind and body. We award children with healthy lunch boxes.

We use a positive whole school behavior management system to encourage good manners.

How do you feedback progress and attainment to students and parents?

We have an open door policy where parents can make an appointment to discuss progress and attainment at any time in addition to our formal parent meetings

How often is the more formal feedback such as reports and parent/teacher meetings?

Formal feedback sessions is arranged termly

Which languages are taught at your school - please detail any as a first as well as second language?

Urdu, French, Spanish.

Do you offer EAL or TEFL support for those students where English is not their first language?

Most of our students are second language learners. We do offer additional language support for those who are falling behind.

Do you offer a dedicated prayer room/s for students? For which faiths?

Yes, we have a prayer room and a prayer time for Muslim students to take their time to pray.

Do you have a learning support team in your school?

Yes, we have a learning support team that caters for individual students learning needs.

Not all schools are staffed or resourced to offer learning support to those children with either moderate or significant learning needs. To what level can you offer support for those with learning differences?

Support for mild cases only.

Does your school have particular expertise in dealing with a specific learning need such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, aspergers syndrome and so forth?

Yes, we have an active parent group that support the school on open days.

Is there an opportunity for parental representation on your school Board of Governors?

Yes, parents have an important role in directing the school in alliance with ADEK regulations. We currently have a parent representative in the governing board, parent coffee mornings, parent meetings that are actively involved in strategic direction of the school.
