Welcome to the GEMS World Academy Dubai official Q and A page. Here we ask the questions, and the school answers directly. It is its chance to have its say on specific areas you have told us you want to know about. If you think there are additional questions we should be asking you may contact us here.

Does your school have a waiting list? In which years?

For some of the grades yes and as Dubai is a transient country, we might be able to offer a small amount of places throughout the year. To register, please visit our website. For further information regarding availability, please email [email protected] or [email protected]

What are qualities and characteristics that define your school and its students?

We are a truly international school representing over 90 different nationalities with no dominant ethnic group. We celebrate what makes us similar, but also what makes us different (think International Day and Winter Festival for example). Our aim is to develop world citizens who live together peacefully and in tolerance and respect for other cultures.

Even though GEMS World Academy Dubai is very strong in areas such as Design, Music and Sport, we are committed to a holistic excellence. We have a balanced program in other fields as well and support our students in their areas of needs challenging and extending their gifts and talents.

Again, we are a school committed to providing outstanding learning opportunities. Within the curriculum, students have access to an extensive range of 1-to-1 IT devices. This is to support learning and skill development by using the latest equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters to create models of the student’s designs as well as recording studios/green screen rooms for different projects within the school. We are striving to develop the potential of our students providing them with the tools on how to “think outside the box”.

GWA – Dubai has established a reputation of world class facilities in combination with a devoted staff who strives to get the very best out of every student and prepare them for a life as global world citizens. We are also a school with conscience and our students are provided with several opportunities to lead and participate in charitable activities.

Parents have described our school as a melting pot where multi-cultural differences are respected and celebrated. Our “Open Door policy”, in combination with a very active parent community has resulted in a friendly and positive ambience for all members of the GWA family. We strive to ensure that the school culture and climate “feels” different than any other school in Dubai – and we think that we do.
