No our school does not have a waiting list, we are currently accepting registrations for this academic year 2019-2020 from Foundation Stage 1 all the way through to Year 13.
Innovative and creative delivery of the British curriculum
WEK has a Healthy Eating and Hygiene for Eating policy, which promotes healthy food and lifestyle choices. GEMS Wellington Academy recognises that healthy eating impacts on health, learning and behaviour. All staff work together to promote healthy food choices and regular exercise, as well the importance of hygiene for eating. We have a strict NO NUT policy to ensure the safety of children with Nut Allergies.
Yes, we have a fully functional school canteen which children use from Year 1 onwards.
Yes, our school canteen provides hot food to children.

FS1 : Sunday -Thursday 7.45am -12.30pm or you can sign up to our FREE After School Care program and FS1 students can stay until 2:35pm.
FS2 : Sunday-Wednesday 7.45am - 2.40pm
FS2 : Thursday 7.45am - 1pm
Year 1-13 : Sunday - Wednesday 7.40am - 3pm
Year 1-13 : Thursday 7.40am - 1pm

Arabic is taught as a specialist subject to students of native Arabic speakers (Arabic A) and is taught also to non native speakers (Arabic B) as is mandatory in all schools in the UAE.
From Year 2, children are taught French and from Year 7, children are taught Spanish.
We have qualified ELL Teachers (English Language Learning) who support students English where English is not their first language.
Yes, Muslim children who are Arabic speakers study Islamic Education in Arabic. We also teach Islamic Education in English for Muslim children who do not speak Arabic as their first language.
Yes, we have many Prayer rooms located around the school for our Muslim students to access.
We have four Parent groups that support the school:
- Parent Council
- Parent Reps
- Parent Volunteer's
We encourage parents to join us as Parent Volunteers and we provide the training. This allows our parents to volunteer in the classroom and also accompany our students on their school trips.
Yes, we have a Parent Council members who are the mediators between the parents and the principal and the school.
We offer induction days for students and parents who join us as new families.
