First Steps School and Nursery is a private nursery and preschool for children aged 24 months to 4 years, located in Al Karama, Abu Dhabi. The nursery was first established in 1997 and caters to children from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds. The nursery prides itself of a low staff-to-student ratio of no more than 1 teacher to 7 children.

First Steps School and Nursery follows a British EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) English speaking curriculum, with a basic introduction to Arabic which covers colours, shapes, numbers and letters. Each child at the nursery is encouraged to develop speaking and listening skills through discussion sessions, singing and stories. The nursery also aims to develop mathematical skills by introducing practical numbers based activities and patterns.

Nursery classes are split into six distinct class rooms based on the child’s age. The four nursery class rooms are the Ladybird class, the Bear class, the Dolphin class and the Jungle class. The two pre-school class rooms include the Disney class and the Farm class.
