Following Taaleem Education's entry to the Dubai Stock Exchange in late 2022, when it announced the intention to use the funds raised to develop further schools, one of the UAE's largest school groups has announced the launch of a further Dubai British School in Mira Oasis 2.
Dubai British School Mira will join the original Dubai British School Emirates Hills (rated Outstanding by the KHDA), Dubai British School Jumeirah Park (rated Very Good) together with its separate Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation, and the fourth school, which will open in September 2024, Dubai British School Jumeira. In 2022, Taaleem also took over the ownership of long-standing and formally not for profit Jebel Ali School, bringing its portfolio of UK curriculum schools to five.
Located in Emaar’s Mira Oasis 2 community, on a substantial plot of 28,480 sq ft., the school is expected to welcome students in August 2025. DBS Mira and DBS Jumeira are each expected to cater for in excess of 1,600 students once fully occupied.
Dubai British Schools’ existing campuses in Emirates Hills and Jumeirah Park already cater to more than 3,000 students, with these schools both operating at full capacity.
DBS Mira will initially cater to students aged between three and 11 years of age from the Early Years Foundation Stage 1 to Year 7, delivering the National Curriculum for England (NCfE) and promises a nurturing environment and strong focus on sustainability and community.
Although feedback to WhichSchoolAdvisor's Parent Survey from Dubai British School Emirates Hills is relatively limited, of those parents who have responded, 86% would fully recommend the school to other parents. Parents give the school an overall rating of 4/5 – a positivity rating of 80%.
Dubai British School Jumeirah Park parents have provided much greater feedback and, again, 87% of parents would fully recommend the school to others. The school received an overall rating of 4.1/5 – or an 82% positivity rating.
We believe, therefore, that parents, students and their local community can expect to be well served by Dubai British School Mira.
Fee information for the new school, available on the KHDA website, indicates that they will range from AED 49,026 - AED 66,545 (up to Year 7). It remains to be seen if discounted fees will be offered on opening.
For comparative purposes, the KHDA approved fees announced for Dubai British School Jumeira, which will launch a year ahead of DBS Mira, have been confirmed as AED 50,500 (but discounted to AED 42,900 on opening) for FS1 and FS2 and Years 1 and 2, whilst those for Years 3 to 6 are approved at AED 57,500 (discounted to AED 49,100). Approved fees for Years 7 to 11 are AED 68,500, whilst those for Years 12 and 13 are AED 75,700.
