Dubai Autism Center was established in November 2001, initially starting as a resource and assessment center.
Initially the center had no students and only three-four staff. The center now boasts forty-three students (nineteen of these being nationals), sixty three members of staff, and twelve therapists.
Its popularity is demonstrated by the long waiting list - at the time of this review two hundred and seven people are waiting to get into the center.
The aim of the center is raise awareness of autism and to allow children with autism a place to learn that understands and supports their needs.
