A wonderful small community school with a welcoming 'feel' to it. We create a positive nurturing environment for the children to feel comfortable and happy in their learning.

We use a variety of standardised tests and ongoing pupil tracking to show attainment and 'value added' data.

No more than 1 hour a week. Major focus on daily reading at home by the pupils.

Physical education and sport is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. How does your school ensure children engage in physical activity?

Two hours a week curriculum time PE for all classes. A large range of after school club sports offered for children from FS2 upwards. The school also is involved in a number of inter school matches across a variety of sports.

How does your school promote healthy lifestyles?

Yes - Fruit/ vegetable snacks only. A balanced lunch box is promoted for the children who bring in packed lunches. In addition to that the paid meal service starts with soup, main meals always served with vegetables and the children have access to a salad bar.

How do you promote healthy eating?

Information is given out to parents by the school nurse and the school council. We hold assemblies to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet. Fruit/ vegetable snacks only. In addition to that the paid meal service starts with soup, main meals always served with vegetables and the children have access to a salad bar.

Does the school have cafeteria facilities for the students? How does it promote a balanced diet?

Yes- Mastercook, an external company provide hot dinners to the pupils.

What is the approximate average cost of a lunchtime meal?

26 AED included a snack at break time and a cooked lunch and dessert at lunchtime.

7.45am - 2.30pm

How do you feedback progress and attainment to students and parents?

We encourage the parents to drop their children off at the classroom door every day. Informal quick discussions can take p[lace daily. Parents always have the option of meeting with parents at any time of the year. This is in addition to the formal teacher/ parent consultations.

How often is the more formal feedback such as reports and parent/teacher meetings?

3 parent/teacher consultations per year, a written end of year report. Also we hold general curriculum meetings.

Yes, our HOI monitors the need and assigns the dedicated EAL support LSA to give extra ' catch up' support.

How do you support gifted, able and talented students?

Pupils are identified using a clear criteria. G + T pupils have challenging in class differentiation and extra challenge activities. The coordinator monitors provision and tracks progress which is then fed back to HOI.

Do you have a learning support team in your school?

Yes. The team consists of the HOI, SENCO, 3 x LSAs, 1x HLTA, G+T coordinator and wellbeing support officer.

Not all schools are staffed or resourced to offer learning support to those children with either moderate or significant learning needs. To what level can you offer support for those with learning differences?

We aim to support any student that applies to the school by working closely with parents and external therapists.
