LET'S GO

The school is housed in a large block building painted a very light grey with bold red and blue pillar paintwork. There are three main blocks with three floors which all become one huge building. There are plants and shrubs at the entrance then a line of palm trees spaced across the front.

There’s a large entrance hall with a circular skylight surrounded by colourful flags. Red and blue are the prominent colours in the entrance with comfy, traditional leather and wood chairs and couches.Tea and coffee is freely available.

Huge bright photos of children playing and learning cover the walls. There is a peaceful, quiet and calm atmosphere.

The gateman signed our consultant in and the receptionists directed her to the admissions office. Kruppa Koshy, the senior admissions executive was friendly, professional and informative. The school is only three years old and caters for children from 3 years to Grade 9 (14 years old).

CAS is part of the Innoventures group which includes Raffles and DIA. It is awaiting approval to expand to Grade 10 next year and eventually Grades 11 and 12 which will enable students to complete IB qualifications.

Our consultant joined a guided tour with other visitors who were an international group of mums with small children.

There are two swimming pools catering for two age groups and a large astro-turf pitch. The school is laid out in a block style with a large central area. The bottom floors are for the smallest children working upwards with the eldest on the top floor.

There’s a feeling of involvement for all ages as the large square central area unites them. This area is used for large events such as assemblies, house meetings etc.

The children represent 80 different nationalities and the staff 25 different nationalities.

The parents are fully involved in the school via the parent teacher’s association (CASPA).

The school is very technically oriented and it has a library stretching across two floors. All books are imported from the USA. The school allows a school bus transport company to operate within the school.

There are plenty of extra curricular activities for the children to choose from. There’s a large dance studio with a wooden floor and a huge cafeteria where hot meals are served. Meals and snacks cost between 5 and 15 AED. It runs an ID system for all the children which enables the parents to top up day to day accounts for food, clubs and other activities.

The uniform is beige shorts with a navy top and the children looked relaxed yet busy. There’s a real community feel to the school.

The school runs a parent portal system to inform parents of news and other details. Staff have a professional development day once a month.

Overall, an impressive but developing school campus.
