MORE arrow_drop_down

Kid’s Island and Cocoon Nurseries are part of the same group owned and run by a Ms Isabelle Amatoury, and both situated in Jumeirah 3.

Kid’s Island and Cocoon Nurseries follow the UK's EYFS, and accept children from 9 months to the Foundation Stage 1 level (children who have turned 3 by 31st of August.)

Students are divided into 4 sections: Infants, Nursery, High Nursery and Foundation Stage 1. Numbers in class vary from 12 to 16 children, depending on age group and classroom size.

The school's (very good) web site helpfully publishes its adults-to-children ratio - the exact number depending upon the age group.

Infants: 1 Teacher + 2 Assistants
Nursery: 1 Teacher + 2 Assistants
High Nursery: 1 Teacher + 1 Assistant
FS1:

1 Teacher + 1 Assistant

This, broadly, follows Ofsted recommendations (the English regulatory body for schools) which says under 2 years of age 1 adult to three children; 2-3 years of age should have 1 adult to 4 children; Over 3 years 1 adult to 7 children (this can be 1 to 13 if the lead person has a BA in education).

Facilities at the nurseries include a Gym Room, Outdoor Play Areas, Activity Room, Library Room and Playrooms

Students can attend 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week depending on the child’s age group.

Regular Hours: Sunday to Thursday 8.00am to 12.30pm
Early Drop Off Facility: Sunday to Thursday 7.30am to 8.00am (optional)
Late Pick Up Facility: Sunday to Thursday 12.30pm to 1:45pm (optional)
Extended Pick Up Facility: Sunday to Thursday 12.30pm to 2.15pm (optional)

The nursery also runs holiday programmes.

The school does not publish fees, but these will naturally vary depending upon the schedule parents decide.

The Buzz

The majority of feedback that we have received has been overwhelmingly positive. Children are said to be happy and well looked after, and look forward to attending the preschool each day.
