Part of a larger chain of schools that has a campus in Cairo, British Columbia Canadian International School, located in Dubai Investment Parks, is slated to open September, 2017.
Upon graduation, students that attend British Columbia Canadian International School receive a British Columbia diploma which is "round the world based on their course final grades." In order to ensure the quality of instruction at the new campus, the BC Ministry of Education in Canada will come BCCS every year to "evaluate the correctness of BCCS curriculum in the classrooms," according to founding Principal Shawn Merke.

The curriculum focus is on guiding students to become "innovative, effective communicators, who are self-aware and socially responsible." With a task-based interdisciplinary educational focus, teachers will aim to take the content and core competencies of the curriculum and combine them with the interests and passions of students, to investigate how they can apply to real-world problems and scenarios.
Teachers will be fully certified teaching staff from Canada and the school will be inclusive, with an admissions policy "that does not discriminate against any child or their family. All children are welcome to apply to BCCS regardless of their nationality, ethnicity or religion."
Canadian schooling is not one of the country's biggest exports, but that is something that the school thinks will change. Canada scores well in international benchmarking tests such as PISA, and it is the British Columbia curriculum that fuels its highest performing schools.
Fees at British Columbia Canadian International School will start at 40,000 AED for KG1 and rise to 60,000 AED for Grade 6. The fee is inclusive of books tuition, and equipment (all necessary to teach the BC Curriculum says the website). An additional "PEN" fee of 350 USD is required annually. This provides each child with a British Columbia Personal Education Number and is a requirement of the B.C. Ministry of Education."
Founding students will receive a 10% reduction on their fees for the duration of the time that they are enrolled in the school. This will apply from the academic year 2018-19 onwards.
