NOTE: This school is now closed.
The school building was provided by ADEC to serve the needs of the Indian community in the area. The move was supported by local businessman, Dr. B.R. Shetty, who contributed to renovating and the operating budget of the school.
Previously many parents had to send children to schools in Mussafah, located more than 200km away, because of a lack of schools in Al Gharbia following an Indian curriculum.
On the 26th June 2011 ADEC announced plans to merge Al Hamdaniya with other schools in the region as part of a wider restructure to take place in the emirate up to 2018. Al Hamdaniya students would move to the building of Kaab Bin Malik School, with the school under a new name of Zayed Al Khair School.
