The impressive Al Forsan Nursery has been created and developed by the reputable Aldar Academies and the group's quality is evident in this nursery for children age 2-4 years.

The story so far…

Four years after its opening, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com was informed in January 2023 that Al Forsan Nursery has closed.  No reason was given for this decision.

Al Forsan Nursery opened in 2018 and is part of Aldar Academies, which operates seven academies across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. This is, so far, the group’s only nursery and it is evident from the impressive facilities and highly qualified team that considerable care and attention has been dedicated to it. Al Forsan Nursery has been graded ‘Outstanding’ in its most recent ADEK inspection.

The nursery follows the English national curriculum for early years (EYFS) and provides an ideal foundation for children to smoothly transition to one of the Aldar Academies (Al Ain Academy, Al Bateen Academy, Al Mamoura Academy, Al Muna Academy, Al Yasmina Academy, The Pearl Academy, and West Yas Academy), for which the group offers priority placements. The nursery caters to children aged 2-3 years (Pre-FS) and 3-4 years (FS1).

In keeping with it being part of Aldar Academies (although clearly not an Academy itself), Al Forsan Nursery boasts “the same exceptional teaching standards and techniques that are delivered across [the] academies”. Likewise, the nursery tells us, its team benefits from considerable continuous professional development opportunities as part of the organisation.

The nursery is very capably led by Nursery Principal, Suzanne Sumner. Prior to opening the nursery, Suzanne brought with her more than two decades of experience in education in the UK and UAE, eight of which were specifically within early years.

What about the curriculum?

Al Forsan Nursery follows the British EYFS curriculum. It describes itself as being an “academic” nursery, aiming to provide its young students with the basic skills required for transitioning up to ‘big school’, whilst ensuring the social and emotional needs of the children are also a significant priority.

The nursery is also proud to have a dedicated early years SEN specialist on the team, supporting children with additional needs.

What about the environment and facilities?

Al Forsan Nursery is a large purpose-built facility that sits within the green landscape of a sports resort. The scale and appearance of the building really provides a wow factor that is unusual in nurseries. It houses nine classrooms and an expansive and well-designed outdoor area.

The Buzz

The team at Al Forsan Nursery is clearly very proud of its strong relationship with the highly reputable Aldar Academies, and the evident advantages this brings, such as its top-tier resources, access to group expertise and quality training opportunities for staff. Parents and children clearly benefit from this also, with priority placements for FS2, and a smooth transition from nursery to school that would otherwise be more challenging for a nursery to provide.

This should not, however, distract from the fact that this is an impressive nursery in its own right, with experienced leadership and a highly qualified team set within an engaging early years learning environment.

What about the fees?

The Al Forsan Nursery fee is based on the provision of five full days per week, over three terms and is AED 39,000. An initial admission fee of 2,000 AED is also payable.  These fees are applicable for both pre-FS and FS1.
