Chris Cleave’s first novel 'Incendiary' won the Somerset Maugham award, the Book-of-the-Month Club’s First Fiction award and the Prix Spécial du Jury at the French Prix des Lecteurs.

It was described by the Washington Post as ‘a mesmerizing tour de force’.
