Extracurricular Activities
Student experience should not stop at the ‘academic’ and our featured schools offer many and varied opportunities and experiences outside the classroom for student development.
Mike Lambert highlights over 130 extracurricular clubs and activities at Dubai College offering sporting, creative, philanthropic and academic opportunities, “we are enabling them to discover their own place within the school community and in time within the world outside,” he says.
At Dubai British School there’s a ‘rich’ ECA programme which has an explicit focus on enrichment rather than curriculum extension. “Students have an opportunity to engage with sports, music, cultural activities as well as different learning opportunities. Some of our most popular ECA activities include the MUN (Model United Nations) programme and the IA (International Award), both of which are geared towards developing leadership skills amongst the youth of today,” says Mark Ford.
At Greenfield Community School students are offered the opportunity to participate in sports, creative arts, music, hobbies and service activities. Offering everything from football and swimming, to chess and cooking, to language classes and the school musical.
