The Eid Al Fitr holiday for the public sector has been announced in the UAE.
The Federal Authority For Government Human Resources has said that the first day of the holiday will begin on Thursday, June 14th, and will last until Shawwal 3.
Depending on when the moon is sighted and when Eid begins, Shawwal 3 will either be on Sunday, June 17th or Monday, June 18th.
Public sector organisations and schools will be closed until Sunday if Eid falls on Friday (making Ramadan 29 days). However, if it falls on Saturday, they will remain closed until Monday.
The official start of Eid Al Fitr is subject to the moon sighting.
Eid holidays usually are for three days for the public sector. Schools usually mirror government holidays.
Private sector holidays have not yet been announced.
