In Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has confirmed that all nurseries have been ordered to close on Tuesday 5th February.  The reason for this decision was 'to facilitate the participation of those who have registered to attend' the celebration of a Catholic Mass by his Holiness Pope Francis, Leader of The Catholic Church.  The Mass will take place at Zayed Sports Stadium.

Nurseries in Dubai have been guided to remain open by the Ministry of Education, although parents are advised to check with each child's nursery.

We will update this story as more announcements are made.

In addition, school holiday dates for the next three years have been announced by the Ministerial Council for Development.
