YMOTYA 2017

Calling all aspiring young musical artists! Have you got an unstoppable passion for composing, singing or songwriting? Do you love performing? Is music the mission of your life? Then this competition is for YOU.

Open now until 14th October 2017 WhichSchoolAdvisor are inviting primary and secondary students from across the UAE, with a passion for music, to take part in our online music video competition.

It is completely FREE to enter, and we are encouraging as many students as possible to take part. No matter what your age or your musical preference everyone has the chance to be seen and heard.

It doesn’t matter what instrument you play, or musical style you choose. In fact, we’d love it if you could bring something different to the competition! In the UAE we are lucky to have such a melting pot of musical backgrounds and cultures coming together in one country. Whatever your musical flair you can take part.

The music video should be no longer than three minutes and should be uploaded to WhichSchoolAdvisor.com no later than 14th October 2017.  There is no age limit to enter. As long as you are a school student and resident of the UAE you are eligible*.

Once the competition closes the videos will be judged by a specially selected panel of judges, including professional saxophonist Adam Long, and orchestral and session violinist Anna Pym.

This year we have 3 categories in our competition:

1. Young Musician of the Year with the winner being awarded AED 10,000, and second and third place both taking home AED 4,000.
2. Best Music Video, in which the winner will be awarded AED 2,000
3. People’s Choice Award, the winner will receive a commemorative trophy the prestige of this category comes from being voted the best video by the public.

Voting for the People’s Choice Award has begun. It will close on Friday 3rd November.

We are delighted to offer our shortlisted finalists the exciting opportunity of performing live in front of a select and invited audience of friends, family and school representatives at the beautiful Madinat Theatre in Dubai on Saturday 4th November, 10am – 12.30pm.

In preparation for this, the young artists will have the unique opportunity of being mentored by award winning singer-songwriter legend Abbo Abbondandolo.
