It is the last term of the academic year for most students in the UAE with summer holidays on the horizon. To help plan their vacation, parents have been awaiting the announcement of the start date of the new academic year.

On Tuesday the UAE's Ministry of Education (MoE) announced that:

The academic body in all schools applying to foreign curriculums and the MOE curriculum will starts on Aug. 26, 2018, while students will start on September 2, 2018.”

The Ministry also tweeted that a flexibility margin of one week is granted to private schools of foreign curricula to start the academic calendar.

The winter break is scheduled from 16 December 2018 to 10 January 2019. The spring break will be from 31 March to 11 April 2019 and the academic year will end on 4 July 2019

The total number of school days in the new academic year will be 182
