The KHDA has confirmed via social media that schools will remain open on Thursday despite heavy rainfall in Dubai overnight.
Alongside a screen shot of a student comment from the last heavy rainfall during the school year, Dubai's education regulator commented:
"The last time it rained during the school year was in 2019! We’ve been saving this one for a long time. Yes there’s school tomorrow."
According to the according to the UAR National Centre of Meterology (NCM), some further rainfall is expected in Dubai on Thursday, with the sun returning on Friday.
Meanwhile the Abu Dhabi Media Office has issued a warning to drivers stating:
"Due to wet weather, drivers are advised to drive with caution, adhere to safety guidelines and speed limits, and follow official weather forecasts."
