Rising School to Close Citing Covid-19

Despite actively recruiting new students just one month ago, Nad al Sheba located Rising School has informed its parents it will close at the end of this academic year, citing the economic impact of Covid-19.

The Rising School in Nad Al Sheba has become the first school to close citing the economic impact of Covid-19. It was in its third year of operations.

"We are obliged to notify you that we will cease the operations of the school by the end of this academic year 2019/2020, due to financial reasons resulting from the economic impact of the Covid-19 global pandemic," the school said in a letter to its parents.

“We sincerely thank you for your trust and the opportunity to serve you and your precious children, we apologise for the inconvenience this will cause in locating other schools.”

The school had been actively recruiting new pupils up until last month, offering a 25% discount on registration fees for new pupils.

The KHDA, Dubai's education regulator, is said to be aware of the planned closure.

The Rising School opened with a slew of other premiums schools in 2017 and was the first American curriculum school in the Nad Al Sheba area. The school was positioned itself at the premium end of the market with KHDA approved fees starting at 31,500 AED in KG, rising to 61,500 AED in Year 8.
