The new campus, called the Fry Campus, is a 25,000 sq. meter plot on Al Reem Island with a range of facilities for pupils and staff.
It had a soft launch in September 2017 and is currently catering to pupils from Years 3 to 6. The school will offer 3 more year groups (up to Year 9) for the academic year starting September 2018 and will eventually provide specialist facilities for pupils from Years 3-13.
The new campus can accommodate up to 1,800 pupils and complements the existing campus of Repton Foundation School, Rose Campus, which opened in September 2013.
Both campuses will eventually serve up to 2,300 pupils. The school is currently rated Very Good by ADEK.
It is a sister school to Repton School Dubai and Foremarke Dubai and a partnership between Repton School, Derbyshire, UK and Evolvence Knowledge Investments (EKI), a Dubai-based investment company.
Repton School, UK, which has a 450 year old history, holds two of the six places on the board of governors including the chair of the governors’ education committee.
Khaled Al Mheiri, Chairman, EKI, said: “The addition of Fry Campus will be a significant boost in consolidating Repton Abu Dhabi’s stature as a beacon of educational excellence. As a leading educational group, we are committed to supporting the UAE leadership’s emphasis on education to prepare pupils for a knowledge based economy and help them maximise their potential through our network of reputed schools.”
Fry Campus has an urban and contemporary design. It is spacious and bright, illuminated by natural light from the atrium which is the focal point of the campus.
Its facilities include a six lane 25-meter indoor swimming pool, 3 indoor sports halls covering badminton, basketball, handball, netball and volleyball, 30,000 sqft shaded rooftop outdoor courts and a multipurpose hall for creative arts.
The school provides an iPad to each and every student at the school. There's "innovation time" included in the curriculum.
"The use and success of technology at Repton Abu Dhabi has been acknowledged through the awarding of Apple distinguished school status in the Middle East. It is a global benchmark which recognises innovation, visionary leadership and academic excellence," said Robert Relton Principal at Repton.
In addition, there is a sky-court/dining area, 4 level glass cylindrical central library, art centre, design & technology rooms, music halls, science laboratories, a dedicated 6th form centre and many educational learning spaces.
