A student from Dubai has scored the highest marks in IGCSE Arabic examination.

Athija Obaid Mohamed Jaber AlMheiri, a Repton School Dubai student, is the global topper in Arabic with an overall score of 300, the highest marks attainable.

A ceremony was organised at the school to commend her hard work and effort, which was attended by the senior leadership team, as well as her family. David Cook, Headmaster, Repton said:

“We are very proud of Athija for her hard work and determination and we congratulate her - to achieve full marks and come first in the entire world is a major achievement. At Repton, we place a keen emphasis on the Arabic language, for both native and non- native speakers, and we are committed in the pursuit of excellence.

We are confident that Athija’s wonderful achievement will inspire other Repton students to study hard in this subject. Her attainment is proof that hard work and a keen desire to learn, coupled with dedicated teaching, can result in world class results.”

Repton School Dubai follows the curriculum of the United Kingdom up to 16 with IGCSEs, and then offers the IB Diploma at Post-16. The school is currently rated Outstanding by the KHDA, Dubai's education regulator.
