New Parents & Kids Book Club Launches This Week
Looking for a monthly book club for you and your little ones to attend together? Then look no further; community group Parents United UAE is launching the Parents & Kids Book Club, created for UAE families with a passion for reading and a love of storytelling.
The first of this new series of childrens' book events will take place this week, on Wednesday 20th September from 9:30am to 11:00am at Dubai Festival Plaza (Jebel Ali) and is set to be extremely popular.
The Parents & Kids Book Club, from community group, Parents United UAE, powered by WhichSchoolAdvisor.com and SchoolsCompared.com, has been created for parents and their little ones to come together and discover the delight of stories.
This will include a family-centred morning of coffee, conversation and engaging activities, as well as talks on children's literature, live storytelling and entertainment. As well as all this, 50 lucky attendees will win Dubai Festival Plaza shopping vouchers worth Dh100 each and one lucky attendee will win a book hamper worth more than Dh500 from Booktopia.
This month’s theme is Character Building With Stories. Our expert speakers will discuss a range of children’s books that are perfect for nurturing positive character traits such as confidence, kindness, empathy and resilience in our children.

Speaking Schedule:
There will be a rolling schedule of short talks over the morning. You can listen to the experts speak, or you can enjoy the children’s entertainment, or simply snuggle down on a sofa or bean bag for a quiet read and chat.

- Character Building with Stories by The Book Lady from Booktopia
- The Book Lady from Booktopia will share her expertise on using literature as a tool for teaching essential values such as empathy, kindness, mindfulness, inclusiveness, and friendship. Discover how the stories we read can have a profound impact on shaping children’s behaviours.
- Kim Conlin, Primary Principal at GEMS International School Al Khail will be sharing some super helpful tips on how to encourage a passion for literature in children from even the youngest age.
- Our younger guests will be entertained by a delightful story time session from the wonderful GEMS International Al Khail School team.
- Delve into the world of character strengths with our guest expert, Ashley Green, a Wellbeing Coach from the Free Spirit Collective and author of the Emobeans series of books. Learn about practical approaches to identifying and nurturing positive traits in children, helping them build resilience, confidence, and emotional intelligence.

Engage in thought-provoking conversations with fellow parents and caregivers. Share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas on raising children with strong values and character in an informal and supportive environment.
