The first episode of The School Show, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com’s brand new podcast, saw our Senior Editor, Jenny Mollon, chat to Bede Higgins, Principal of Kings’ School Dubai and Liam Cullinan, Head of Secondary at Nord Anglia International School, Dubai about all the big education news stories of summer 2020.

Our conversation with Bede and Liam starts with a look at exam results. With IB results having been published back in July and GCSE and A Level results imminent, their advice and insight couldn’t be more timely. Jenny also asked whether our two school leaders passed their own exams, a question we’re sure many students would like to hear their teachers take on…tune in to find out how they answered!

After tackling all the challenges of for this year’s exam cohorts, our conversation turned to the lessons learnt during the school closures and Distance Learning. We found it fascinating to find out what Bede and Liam and their school communities will hold on to from this extraordinary time, and which elements of distance learning they will be glad to leave behind (here’s a clue: they really missed their students!).

At the heart of this episode of The School Show is a topic that we know is at the forefront of every parents mind today: Back to School. This year is a momentous one for children starting or returning to school. What advice and guidance do our two highly experienced UAE school leaders have for parents and just how will schools be keeping children, staff and the wider community safe from the dangers of covid19?

We round off the first episode of The School Show with a special segment that we will feature in every episode of the podcast – Looking for a School? Each episode we will highlight two of WhichSchoolAdvisor.com’s highly detailed and personalised School Reviews and School Experiences to help parents who are looking for a school. This time, we feature Safa British School and Jumeirah English Speaking School. If one of these schools sounds like it might be for you, you can read everything we have to say on both right here on WhichSchoolAdvisor.com.

The School Show will return in September with more great guests and topical discussions. We’d love to know what you, our readers, would be interested to hear on our podcast, and who you’d like us to invite in as guests! Drop us a line with your suggestions – [email protected] .
