Taaleem's Greenfield Community School has become one of just five schools worldwide to have become authorised to offer all four of the IB Programmes: the Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), IB Diploma and IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). While the latest authorisation is for GCS's Middle Years Programme, its Career related IB offering is more of a rarity, tailored for students who wish to engage in career-related rather than purely academic learning. “To become one of only five schools in the world out of many thousands [3,619 schools to be exact] that offer the IB curriculum is truly outstanding”, said Stephen Lee, Chairman of the GCS Advisory board. The IB is one of the fastest growing curriculums worldwide and the fastest in the UAE with a growth rate in student enrollments of 78% since 2008/9. That said it is still operating from a low base - just 2.6% of Dubai's students currently study an IB programme. [Source KHDA] Greenfield Community School is currently ranked Acceptable by Dubai's education regulator. Its latest report stressed the need to continue to improve attainment and progress in all phases, but particularly in its MYP and DP. The school does not publish the results of its students in external examinations, so it is currently not possible to benchmark the current success of the school academically. Taaleem itself is becoming one of the largest official IB Professional Development Providers worldwide. It provides training for over 500 teachers annually. .
