The UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has said break for the public sector will last four or five days (including the weekend), depending on the moon sighting, starting from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3.

If Eid is on Friday, residents will get a four-day break from Thursday to Sunday. If on Saturday, the break will last five days —Thursday to Monday.

According to the UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiritisation, employees working for the private sector will also be off from  Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3.

The UAE’s moon-sighting committee will convene on the night of Ramadan 29 to confirm the dates of Eid.
