New Apple School Set for Karama in 2021/2022

LEAMS Education, owners of Apple International School, together with the Oxford School and The Indian Academy with branches in Dubai and Sharjah has announced the opening of Apple International Community School in September 2021. Apple International School is currently rated Good by the KHDA.

The new Apple International Community School is based in the heart of Karama, one of the oldest and more traditional areas of Bur Dubai, and is expected to offer a Primary-only UK curriculum for children from 3 to 11 years of age initially, prior to opening fully from FS to Year 13. The school will follow the popular Early Years Foundation Stage and the Cambridge Primary curriculum, and in line with the other schools in the LEAMS group, will offer highly affordable fees.

According to the owners, “The Apple International Community School, managed by LEAMS Education, brings with it a legacy of over 40 years of academic expertise in the UAE”. LEAMS educates close to 5,800 students across its five UAE campuses.

Commenting on the opening of the new school, Nabil Lahir, CEO, LEAMS Education said :

“The new school goes beyond a classroom and is designed to support a wide range of teaching and learning methodologies, that prepares students for future success and create global citizens. Every child deserves quality education, and we are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that is affordable. We will invest in opening more schools in the coming years with a clear focus on outstanding academic provision.” 

The school will be led by Principal, Dr. Satya Klever, who wants to ensure that “Everyone Included. Everyone Supported. Everyone Challenged. Everyone Successful” is the focus of the school.

Dr. Klever has a Ph.D in Education from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and a Masters in Education from Deakin University. She has a varied background in the UAE, having lectured in Education at the Higher Colleges of Technology, and worked for the Ministry of Education as a Teacher Trainer. She subsequently spent five years at GEMS Education including in her final position, as Vice Principal and Head of Primary.

Facilities at the new school will include smart classrooms, a dedicated Science laboratory, well equipped ICT and Innovation Lab, and a specialised Art and Music room. Sports facilities include an outdoor turfed football field, swimming Pool, cricket pitches, badminton, tennis court, and a synthetic basketball court. There will also be a separate covered outdoor play areas for FS students.

Fees are highly affordable. Set at AED 18,500 to AED 21,000, with KHDA approval for discounts of between 18 and 22 percent for the first three years of operation, resulting in fees of AED 14,500 in FS to AED 17,000 in Years 5 and 6.
