The latest update from a series of protocols released by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday is that schools in the UAE will close and transfer to distance learning if just two or more Covid-19 cases are detected among pupils or staff.

Earlier today WhichSchoolAdvisor.com published details on the MoE's Covid-19 framework for schools  that details the need for schools to operate at an ever more reduced capacity if/as the Covid-19 infection rates rise.

Guidance varies as protocol risk levels move from low to medium to high to extreme risk.

Schools are expected to reopen on Sunday. In reality many schools are staggering their restart by age groups. A number of schools have further delayed their opening today. Some schools have struggled to meet testing requirements.

All staff must have had a test taken on August 20th, or later.

On Thursday 27th August, the UAE recorded 491 new coronavirus cases, its highest daily tally for more than six weeks.
