47 Dubai Schools Receive Top Rating for Wellbeing

The KHDA has published the Dubai School Inspection Bureau's findings on wellbeing in each Dubai school, as part of the 2022-23 inspection reports, with 47 schools receiving the top rating. Wellbeing in schools is outlined as a key focus area in the national agenda, and was explored in depth in 2022-23 KHDA inspection cycle, with results now published for the first time. 

The first year of wellbeing evaluations for Dubai's private schools reveal that 47 schools have received the top rating of 'very high' and 100 schools have received a wellbeing rating of 'high'. 

This equates to 74% of schools being considered by inspectors to provide either 'high' or 'very high' levels of wellbeing provision for students. 

The inspection framework for wellbeing includes specific focus areas on which schools have been evaluated, including how well schools are leading a wellbeing culture; how well they are listening to the needs of their students and staff members; and how well they are creating policies and processes to improve student wellbeing.

The framework focuses not only on the wellbeing of students, but also on the role of teachers and other staff members. With teacher turnover and teacher confidence identified as barriers to wellbeing, securing healthy, supportive and empowering working conditions is seen as vital and an area of focus for school governance and leadership.

The level of wellbeing in each school has been identified as Very High, High, Moderate, or Low
