We want to remind you that even if you did not make it into the judges’ shortlist, you could still win the popular vote. The public vote remains open until 3rd November 2017.
This is our ‘vote for fun’ option, for which the winner of the People’s Choice Award will receive a commemorative trophy, and the prestige of being recognised as the best young musician by the public.
The People’s Choice award will be announced, alongside the Young Musician title, the week commencing Sunday 5th November. So keep voting!
We were thrilled by the number of submissions we received for the competition this year, with entries coming from nearly 50 schools across the UAE, in particular from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. With well over 200 entrants it was up by 156 on last year’s total.
We were simultaneously delighted by the quality and diversity of the submissions. Instruments varied incredibly and, alongside the more traditional submissions, instruments in our video entries included, amongst others, the Croatian Brac, the Chinese Pipa, the tenner recorder, the bassoon, xylophone, several ukelele’s and even the launchpad!
It takes courage to enter the competition, and dedication, perseverance and hard work to produce the quality of submissions we received.
We encourage everyone who participated to please feel proud of your efforts, and to keep practicing. We hope you had fun taking part. We truly enjoyed watching your entries, and we wish you the best of luck with the People’s Choice Award.
