This online music video competition is open to all school children in the UAE. For the full list of dos and don'ts, read our entry guidelines below.

Previous winners cannot take part in the YMOTYA competition.

Entrants should submit a music video of up to 3:20 minutes (200 seconds) duration.

There should be only one entry per individual or group.

The video can take any form, and the instrument of choice, and style of music chosen is entirely up to the children participating.

There will be a ‘People’s Choice Award’ – our social media ‘vote for fun’ option, which will run while our judges deliberate over the shortlist. However YMOTYA 2019  itself will be decided by a panel of judges.

Entrants can be solo performances, duets, or groups of children in a band.

It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure the video submitted is in the correct digital format and works on the competition microsite If we cannot see your video, we cannot judge your entry. We are unable to edit or optimize your video for you. Give yourself plenty of time to upload. Do not leave until the last minute!

It is the responsibility of the entrant to upload the video before closing at 9pm on Friday 25th October 2019. This includes visiting the nominations site after uploading to ensure that the video has uploaded successfully.

We will not consider a video if it has not been uploaded to the site, no matter the reason. It is your responsibility to give yourselves time to work out any issues you face. If you leave it to the last minute, there is a high chance something will go wrong - that may or may not be your fault.

The contents of the music video can take any form. The instrument of choice, and style of music chosen is entirely up to students participating. However, lip-syncing will not be considered. Submissions must showcase the musical talents of the individual through instrument or voice.
