The WSA TV series continues with Which Curriculum? Before you take the big step of choosing a school you’ll need to consider which is the best curriculum for your child. With a variety of curricula offered at international schools in the UAE, and no one size fits all curriculum,  how do you know what will best suit your child?

To answer this question we’ve brought together leaders from four schools in the UAE to explain the differences and similarities between curricula, so that you feel better equipped to make the right choice of school.

Representing the three main choices of curricula here – the UK National Curriculum, the International Baccalaureate or IB Programme, and the US curriculum – our panel of experts includes:

• Brian Cleary, IB Coordinator at Deira International School
• Mike Bloy, Head of Secondary at Kings' School Dubai
• Liam Cullinan, Head of Secondary at Nord Anglia International School
• OB Sealey, School Director at Universal American School

Together, they explore:
• Why does curriculum matter when choosing a school?
• When do the differences really appear between the different curricula?
• Can students move between curricula at any stage in their education?
• Is there one curriculum that is perhaps more rigorous than another?
• When does subject choice become important, and how does that link in with curriculum?
• Is one curriculum broader than another?
• What does each curriculum bring beyond the academic in terms of technology, creativity, sport, leadership, wellbeing?
• Does each curriculum offer students an equal chance of securing a place at university?
