Dubai British School (DBS)

Dubai British School

Rating: Very Good
Curriculum: UK
Fees: AED 48,032 to AED 72,049
School size: 1141
Nationality of Students: British

We say: DBS is practically an institution in Dubai, and while the KHDA rates it Very Good, the recent BSO report called it Outstanding. The report applauds the ‘open-door policy’ for parents, ‘high levels of trust,’ from parents, and noting that communication is extensive even before children actually enter the school.

Our Survey says: Not only would 80 percent (well above the national average of 68%) of DBS parents recommend the school to other parents, but 90 percent of parents think their child feels a positive sense of belonging too.

The KHDA says: Almost all parents, students and teachers who responded to the (KHDA) survey, report they are satisfied with the work of the school.  Parents believe that the school has provided opportunities for their children to develop community and environmental responsibilities.

Almost all parents are unanimous in their support for the school. They have confidence in the school, not only to educate their children but also to look after their personal development to high levels.

The advisory board is proactive in providing information and making suggestions for further improvement.

Arabic lessons for parents are very much appreciated and well-attended.

Parents have clear and open lines of communication with the school, through a variety of means. They regard the contact opportunities as excellent. They are welcomed in the school and feel they can make approaches for any reason.

Information is freely exchanged.

Parents of students with SEND are fully involved in their children’s education and contact with the SEND department is outstanding.
