Not every school has a half term break, and some have a shorter break. However, many schools close for the full five days, giving families a chance to enjoy a short trip away or some family time together at home. For parents unable to take time off work, many schools will offer some great half term camp options, to keep the kids engaged and provide a break from their usual activities.
Most UAE private schools will have a two-week long spring break this year, which falls just after the beginning of Ramadan (expected to begin on 23rd March). Flight prices will soar, so it's best to get organised as early as possible if you are planning a trip away.
The end of Ramadan is marked by Eid Al Fitr, which is predicted to be on Thursday 20th - Friday 21st April this year. Schools are expected to close on these days, although parents are advised to await announcements from education authorities for confirmation closer to the time.
The next public holiday, Eid Al Adha, is expected to be on Wednesday 28th June - Saturday 1st July. This means schools are expected to close for three days, from Wednesday - Friday. Parents are, as above, advised to await official announcements from education authorities.
