With student population in the GCC estimated at 9.5 million in 2010 and expected to rise to more than 11 million in 2020, there is an increasing demand for higher education in the region. To meet the demand, the United Arab Emirates alone has over 100 government and private institutions of higher education spread over the seven emirates. Out of the 100, Dubai has almost 70 institutions.

With so many higher institutions available in the UAE, families have the option of considering the UAE as a viable option for their school leaving children to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees. However, universities and colleges are also mushrooming all over the world, especially in newly developed countries.

So why should students (and their parents alike) consider studying in the UAE?
