UAE’s Bloom Education has signed an agreement for possible school locations in Saudi Arabia.

A division of Bloom Holding, Bloom Education has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi-based AlKifah Holding. In a statement, Henning Fries, CEO of Bloom Education, said:

“The agreement highlights our efforts to bring world-class schools to the wider GCC region. We have a proven track record of delivering outstanding schools in the UAE and we committed to grow our offering to pupils across the GCC.”

“We have been very impressed by the standard of education that Bloom brings to the region and are committed to working together to explore the feasibility of expanding their education offering into the kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Muhannad Saleh, property division director, AlKifah Holding.

The Bloom Education portfolio includes Brighton College Abu Dhabi, Brighton College Al Ain and the soon to open Brighton College Dubai and Dwight School Dubai.

The company also recently launched the Singaporean nursery brand Mind Champs in Abu Dhabi.

Saudi Arabia itself is currently undergoing a major transition and becoming a more open economy. There is wide expectation that should initiatives be implemented as planned, major investment will create jobs and opportunities for both Saudi citizens, and expatriates. The need for new schools will be just one corollary.
